U.S. Army Lieutenant Forming Soccer League for Iraqi Kids

Request: Soccer equipment donations for a good cause

Hello,
I am a resident of Berkeley and I have a special request. My brother, Eric Roles, is a lieutenant in the US Army, stationed in Iraq right now. He has recently come up with an idea to help foster international relations, particularly with the Iraqi kids. He wants to start a soccer league for Iraqi kids and is asking for donations of balls, jerseys, shin guards and anything else one might use in playing soccer. He is particularly interested in things that might be sitting unused in your garage/basement, that he could give away and tell the kids "An American wanted you to have this". Of course, new stuff is also much appreciated, especially soccer balls (he has a goal of getting 5,000 balls)! My parents in Baltimore are leading this effort on his behalf and if you are interested in helping out you can contact me or email my parents and Eric's fiancee at ericsgoal@hotmail.com.

There is also a short story on this at the local Baltimore TV station's website (including a picture of my brother), http://wjz.com/topstories/local_story_082143002.html

Thanks for reading,
