Ideas:
* Take a digital photo of each player, coach and assistant coach on the team during one of the first practices and email them to everyone along with their names. Each family can then print, cut and glue the pictures on some construction paper and display it somewhere in their home. It helped all of us learn the kids' and coaches' names very quickly. It also can be made in such away to be scrapbook ready at some point down the road.
* Making a simple team banner at the beginning of the season can be lots of fun. Some people use butcher paper and have all the players get together to draw, decorate the team name, color it in. One team included a footprint of each player in some kind of skin-friendly paint. The cool thing about the footprint was that if a player left the team after a season, or a couple new players joined the team, it was easy to add the new footprints, while a departed player will have ‘left his/her footprint’ on the team. Handprints, photos, notes on the best team moments, an on-going art project? Can be lots of fun.
