QUALIFICATIONS FOR
REFEREE REFUNDS AND PAYMENTS
Updated January 2009
There are 2 sources of refunds/payments to pay attention to:
Thank you, refs!
Volunteer Deposit - $100
Adult and youth referees who have
a) affiliated* themselves with an ABSC Division III team, and
b) officiated as Center Referee or Assistant Referee
c) at a minimum of five games
d) which were verified by the league for that season
may request a refund of the $100 ABSC volunteer deposit paid once per family per season at the time of registration. This refund is given in both the Fall and Spring seasons. (Please pay full registration and volunteer fees up front when registering a player in ABSC. Thanks!)
Note: It may be helpful to retain a copy of your ACCYSL Payment Verification Sheets with coach signatures from each game you officiate, so that if the ACCYSL on-line records are not updated for Day-of-the-Game games that you officiate, it will help us process your $100 refund quickly. Thanks.
UNIFORMS AND GEAR - $60
An additional uniform and gear refund may be requested by affiliated* referees. Submit itemized receipts for referee uniforms and referee gear for reimbursement up to $60 per season.
*Affiliated Referees are those who have offered to enter ABSC's 'Affiliated Referee' pool.
Contact Karen Steinmeyer, ksteinmeyer@alumni.ucsd.edu 510-558-0634, for information and to become an 'affiliated referee.' Requirements: Grade-8 license or higher (Grade-9 is lower, doesn't qualify), and a commitment to officiate a minimum of 5 games in a season. Thanks!
To request these refunds, please mail in the ABSC Referee Refund Form to the address on the form at the end of the season. A check will be mailed to you from ABSC. Without submission of the above form a refund will not be generated. To have a hard copy of the ABSC Referee Refund Form mailed to you, contact Julie Anderson.
The league to which ABSC belongs, the Alameda-Contra Costa Youth Soccer League (ACCYSL), pays adult and youth referees a per-game payment to serve as Center Referee or Assistant Referee (Linesman) for verified games assigned to them by the league. Game assignments can be checked at www.mysoccerleague.com, and you may sign up on-line there for games you wish to referee (password provided by league referee coordinators Jerry Nelson and Jack Wagoner to licensed referees).
To request these payments, the payment schedule and the Referee Verification and Payment Sheet may be found on the ACCYSL website. Please read the league rules regarding verification of your work on that payment sheet! And the league address for requesting their per-game payments! For more information, contact:
Jack Wagoner at soccer@bluewave.ws. or
Jerry Nelson at jertheluddite@netzero.net 510-883-9507
Thank you for supporting youth soccer!
