* WHY A NEW UNIFORM?
Teams in our older age groups have been buying their own unique up-graded uniforms as they grow out of ABSC's traditional reversible blue/yellow jersey. These uniforms have been more appropriate sturdy, home/away uniforms for the older age groups than the youthful reversibles. But many ABSC teams ended up with different uniforms! To build club spirit among the teams and club identity in our community, we have phased in a new standard Class III uniform in our club colors, blue and yellow (full description below).
* WHO WILL WEAR THE NEW UNIFORM?
All Class III competitive teams in age groups Under-12 through Under-19 will use the new uniform. (Not sure if your child plays Class III? Class III players went to tryouts and got invited onto a team by a coach. By contrast, MOST ABSC teams play Class IV recreational soccer. So if you re not sure, your child is likely in Class IV.)
Additionally, our older Class IV teams playing Under-12 through Under-19 who are buying up-graded uniforms are wearing the new ABSC uniform. Some Under-12 teams may wish to stay with the traditional reversibles.
* WHO WILL WEAR THE TRADITIONAL REVERSIBLE JERSEYS?
All Under-5, Under-6, Under-8, Under-10 Class IV and some Under-12 Class IV teams will use the traditional reversible blue/yellow jersey. The simple, inexpensive, reversible jersey has been appropriate for these younger players.
* HOW TO GET A UNIFORM
Older teams and Class III teams, to order your NEW ABSC uniforms, have your team manager contact club manager Steven Morrison at abscmanager@yahoo.com, 510-229-0721. These uniforms are ordered for each team as a whole. (Around $70 per uniform)
Younger Class IV teams, your traditional reversible jerseys are still purchased by each player individually through the Blue Barn Clubhouse.
* DESCRIPTION OF UNIFORMS
The new club uniform consists of a blue home jersey, a yellow away jersey, blue shorts, and white socks. Shin guards are required at all practices and games.
The traditional uniform consists of a reversible blue and yellow jersey, blue shorts, white soccer socks. Shin guards are required at all practices and games.
* PLEASE RECYCLE USED UNIFORMS
Please recycle ALL used uniforms (traditional and new style) and soccer gear (shin guards, cleats, goalie gloves, goalie jerseys) through our sales shop at the Blue Barn Clubhouse when the time comes.
