In June 2009 & April 2010 the ACCYSL board approved some minor changes to the game formats. Namely:
Under-7 games
* 4v4 only (not 4v4 OR 5v5). A team plays two 4v4 games simultaneously.
* Additionally, when the location has enough space, the field will be lined for THREE simultaneous 4v4 games, allowing a total of 24 kids to play at once. If the coaches agree, the teams may be split into three squads to play three games simultaneously.
Under-8 games
* 6v6 with option for 7v7 if coaches agree (ABSC recommends 6v6).
* No Offsides.
* "Flying Substitutions." Unlimited substitutions "on the fly," with no game stoppage or notification necessary. However, the player leaving the field MUST be completely off the pitch before the next player may enter.
* An additional 5 minutes of playing time per half, was 20-minute halves, now 25-minute halves.
Under-10 games
* 8v8
