ABOUT US

The Albany-Berkeley Soccer Club (ABSC) is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing opportunities for young people of all ability levels to learn and play soccer in the spirit of sportsmanship and fun. The organization has been running soccer programs for roughly 25 years.

The Albany-Berkeley Soccer Club is one of five clubs within the Alameda-Contra Costa Youth Soccer League (ACCYSL). The other clubs belonging to the league are the Richmond United Soccer Club, the Mersey Soccer Club, the El Cerrito Soccer Club, the San Pablo Soccer Club, the TopSoccer Program (for kids with disabilities) and the Mavericks Class I program. Families register with the club of their choice, and the league arranges the Saturday matches and tournament schedules so that teams from all the clubs play each other, TopSoccer and Mavericks being separate. This is why we often see a variety of soccer uniforms on the various teams at the Saturday matches.

ABSC has approximately 1,500 players aged 4 to 19 and is the largest club in the league, providing about 45% of the league's players.

For more information on seasons, practices, age divisions, signing up as a new or returning player, uniforms, terminology and more, read "Joining the Albany-Berkeley Soccer Club - Information for Newcomers".
